Download Historical data for all NSE Stocks in One go

I was looking for an excel that could download data for all the nse stocks in one go. I wrote macro, searched the internet, tried a lot of things. But, they required a lot of work.



I was browsing though the internet and came across an interesting site. I did some R&D on it and  was able to download data for all NSE stocks in one time.

Here goes the process :

1. Download the spreadsheet from the site http://www.stockhistoricaldata.com/nse 
2. Get the daily nse EOD sheet. Add .NS to each symbol name. Use formala =SYMBOLNAME&.NS.

4. Open the historical data downloader excel (historicaldatadownloader.xls).
5. Go to the Symbols tab.Paste the nse symbol list in the Symbol column starting row 2.
6. Go to Main Menu.
7. Enter Start Day, Start Month and Start Year. Enter End Day, End Month and End Year.
8. Enter Frequency and Sort fields.
9. Enter the location on the computer where you wnat to save data. The path should exist on the computer.
10. Click Download(raw).
11. Kudos. Download starts.
12. The status of the downloads in "Symbols" tab in Status columns.
